About

Willow Church grew into existence from a long history and was formerly known as Christ Center Assembly of God Church. In 1998, Pastor Rodney Burton led a bible study group in his home and this group of believers began to grow. They joined the Assemblies of God fellowship as a Christian Church and appointed Kent and Becky Boyum as pastors. The church gathered in the EP Rock Elementary School gymnasium in the early days and then purchased land to build what is now our current church building at the corners of Cty Rd UU, Jacobs Lane, and Northview Drive. The church building was completed in November of 1993.

In 1998, Pastors Kent and Becky were called to the mission field and the church hired Pastor Mike Roeder as senior pastor. Pastor Mike and his wife Vicki led Christ Center for 23 years, raising their children here in Hudson. They ended their time in ministry in 2022 and the church board searched for a new lead pastor. In May of 2023, Pastor Paul Diehn started as Senior Pastor of Christ Center.

2024 brought a new season for our church as we welcomed new members and saw more people coming to services. Revitalizing our presence as a life-giving, spirit-filled, spirit-formed church with a wide, open welcome for people to join us in worship was a priority. Pastor Paul and the board of deacons prayed and dreamed together about the future of our church. The vision was established: to reach the St. Croix Valley with the love of Jesus to inspire and equip disciples of Christ to influence our world.

The St. Croix Valley is nestled along the St. Croix River. Our church is just five miles south of Wisconsin’s famous Willow River State Park. The Willow River flows into the St. Croix.

Willow trees thrive along riverbanks and moist soil. The roots of the willow tree are remarkable in strength, size, and resiliency to thrive in changing conditions around them. Today the culture in America is challenging the biblical worldview. We at Willow Church seek to stand firm and strong as a body of believers in Jesus Christ. We establish deep faith roots so that we grow in devotion to God. A willow tree has long wispy branches with elongated leaves. We want our church to be a safe haven for those who need the love of Jesus, to come under this willow for shade and to learn about Jesus, the Savior of the world. The wind may blow and circumstances around us bring challenges, yet our faith is firmly rooted in the Word of God and the person Jesus Christ.

Our Mission is to lead people to Jesus and grow in devotion to Him.

Our Vision is to reach the St. Croix Valley with the love of Jesus and to inspire and equip disciples of Christ to influence our world.
